Teacher’s subject commentary from Year Book 2015

The Digital Technologies curriculum at Prescott College aims to develop students’ abilities to define their information needs, evaluate information sources, extract what is needed and create new meaning using digital tools. Digital Technologies lessons are offered in Years 8 to 10 to encourage the appropriate application of technology to all other areas of the curriculum. Students explore all facets that the Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite has to offer, which builds a firm foundation of skills that may be applied in a variety of learning contexts. A strong emphasis is placed on programming languages at Prescott College. MindStorm Robots, as well as various online tools, are also incorporated into the curriculum to help students understand programming, which has become increasingly essential to staying relevant in the job market of the 21st century.
