Vocational Education and Training (VET)

As part of their Flexible Learning Pathways, senior students in Stage 1 and Stage 2 can enrol in nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training courses at either a Recognised Training Organisation or TAFE SA. This study enables them to gain credits required for South Australian Secondary Education Certificate (SACE) and begin a qualificationand gain practical experiences in the Industry of their choice.  A benefit of studying this way is that it helps them to develop prerequisite knowledge and skills to support their application for traineeships or apprenticeships in their choice of career.

Students are required to achieve passing grades in the compulsory subjects of PLP, Maths, English, and Research Project to commence or continue a VET course.

There are many areas to choose from: automotive, hair & beauty, community services, construction, hospitality, business, horticulture, health services, engineering, fitness, animal studies, construction, early childhood education, electrotechnology, pre-plumbing, etc.

Students can travel to different areas of Adelaide depending  on their choice of area to undertake these courses (e.g. Elizabeth, Salisbury and Adelaide City).

During this VET studythe studentare able to remain with their peer group.  Students typically spend 1 day per week at the RTO or TAFE SA. Studying this way allows the students to participate in regular classes for SACE completion and College events and Year 12 events (Year 12 Trip, Formal and graduation).
