Our Chaplain, Pr Jake Whittaker, comes from Newcastle, NSW. He has worked as a Youth Pastor and a teacher, and is passionate about connecting young people with the goodness of God found in Jesus.
Pr Jake’s roles include providing pastoral care for students, staff and families, leading the chapel program, mentoring students in leadership opportunities, running the spiritually focussed Week of Spiritual Emphasis, assisting on the StormCo team, discussing life and the Bible with students in Bible Studies and organising the Service Learning aspect of the College. Pr Jake also teaches Years 8 and 9 History classes, which highlights his passion in helping students determine how we can all contribute to making the world a better place.
All of these things are held together by Pr Jake’s main focus, which is to make the world a better place. If we can all work together as a school community to make the world better, then we can influence the world around us and see positive changes in the world. Jesus said to His followers, “Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will show to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:34-35).
I feel incredibly blessed to be called to provide support to the students, staff and families of Prescott, walk with others as they journey closer to Christ and witness the amazing transformation faith brings to people and the world.
