Crisp, Stuart
Design & Technologies Teacher

I was an engineer before I became a teacher. As much as I enjoy Maths and Physics, teaching Design & Technologies simply makes me smile. My engineering background has a significant influence on the way I teach and the emphasis I place on skills that are important to develop. Perhaps the most important skill is the ability to think. I believe an education that helps you to develop the ability to think, to analyse, to consider your personal values and to make your own, informed decisions is one that will enable you to work not just hard, but smart. I also teach the importance of knowing how to use tools, not only in the Design and Technology workshop, but also sitting at a computer using software. This frees your mind to focus on higher levels of thinking and to create better solutions to problems.
