Chemistry and Junior Science
I graduated from the University of Adelaide completing a Bachelor of Science (majored in Chemistry) and a Bachelor of Teaching in 2016. Throughout my time at University, I also tutored students in understanding Mathematics and Chemistry, passing on my love and passion for those subjects dearest to my heart. Since university, I have had quite the journey teaching Mathematics and Science in Whyalla, and have experienced teaching students with welfare issues in low socioeconomic backgrounds. Throughout the first three years of my teaching career, I have had to endeavour in teaching content in unorthodox ways, so that my students are engaged. I love integrating cooking, physical education, art, ICT and many other subjects into science. I guess I'm one of those crazy and dramatic science teachers!
Experiencing my own welfare issues, I have recently reborn myself as a Christian, and I am still learning. What resonates with me about Prescott College is the school motto "Nothing without God", as even though us as human beings go through troubling trials and soaring highs, God is always there with us, protecting us, and guiding us to our true purpose. The Greek Philosopher Plato described knowledge as ingrained into our very being. Everyone is capable of learning anything, because God created us with that knowledge already built in to us. It just takes a special person to allow that piece of knowledge to be uncovered like a mesmerising jewel in a rock. I always aim to try and be that special person for the people I teach.
