Term 3, Week 2: Chaplain’s Corner

The term has started with a bang with our first PCCA church visit and our school Showcase of the Arts. Both myself and Pr Leighton were elbow deep in these events and are very proud of the students! As for school chapels, we have a new theme for the term – “Love Command”. We are looking at Jesus’ teaching from John 13:35 – “By this will everyone know that you are my disciples if you love one another”.

So what does love look like? My mum always told me, “Love isn’t a feeling, it is a choice”. This term we will be looking at that kind of love – the kind when you choose to put someone else’s needs before your own. The kind where you choose to love everyone – those who love you back, those who don’t, those who have hurt you, those in need, to forgive, to serve… And we have a God who has done all of this and more for us.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
