Our Amazing Trip to Sydney
After a very challenging few years where COVID derailed so many activities and plans, the Year 12s were finally able to enjoy their final trip of high school. So, very early on a cold and rainy Thursday morning, we gathered at the airport to board a flight that took (many) of us to an unfamiliar destination: Sydney.
The first few days were spent at Avondale University where the students experienced a taste of “Uni-life”; sleeping in the dormitory, meals in the cafeteria, some activities organised by university students and free time to go for walks, play basketball, pool, table tennis or just relax with friends.
We worshipped at the University Church on Sabbath and after lunch headed off to Caves Beach. A few brave students enjoyed the waves, others ventured into the caves and some just relaxed on the beach. After Sabbath closing, we had dinner at The Entrance.
On Sunday it was back to the hustle and bustle of the big city via the train. Once we arrived, we were able to explore Manly Beach and went shopping in China Town. We were fortunate to visit Taronga Zoo with its beautiful animals. There was also time for us to go ten pin bowling and play laser tag at Darling Harbour. We enjoyed the tourist attractions; Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from different perspectives by ferry.
Everything we saw and did was such a great experience. Thank you Prescott College, for making this trip happen, Year 12s for making it such a memorable trip and thank you to the staff members who joined us.In the words of Aarav Iyer (student leader): It was the time of our lives. I already miss Sydney so much!!!
