Last Tuesday Adelaide hosted all of our system education directors, principals, deputy principals and other key leaders from across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands at a biannual leadership conference in Glenelg.
We had the privilege of welcoming some visiting school leaders on campus for a school tour before the conference began. As they moved around our school it was great to hear them reacting on the community we have nurtured at Prescott College Southern. One Principal from Victoria mentioned the positive atmosphere that he could feel as he talked to both students and sta around the school.
Mr Peterson, Mr Thomson and I attended the conference which had a focus on “Flourish”. As leaders we were challenged to think about how we can ensure our students and staff are nourishing. It also challenged school leaders to consider what they do about managing their own wellbeing. Being new to South Australia, it was a good way for me to get to know the leaders at our sister schools here and it was nice to reminisce with past colleagues.
There is no doubt it was a great event and below you’ll see a photo of the entire South Australian Prescott Team. One of the takeaways was that in order to ourish the learning journey needs to happen together. The community of learning is not just about the students and teachers but also includes the parents and wider school community.
